After three exciting rounds, the XiiR is headed to Youngstown, OH for a Sunday afternoon show on 11/29.  In the speedway division Charlie Venegas holds an 8 point lead over Anthony Barlow.  For the first time in over a year, Nathan Siegel is in second place in the quad division after missing his first main event in over four years.  Look for Siegel to arrive in Youngstown ready to take the lead back from current points leader Justin Ebbing.

The first round of the 2009/2010 XiiR series was held on October 22nd.  Charlie Venegas won the speedway division, but the suprise of the night was 17 year old Russell Green finishing second in only his second XiiR event.  Nathan Siegel picked up where he left off last year with a main event win in the quad division.  The series moves back towards the east coast with rounds two and three taking place on Friday, November 20th, and Saturday, November 21st at the Tullio Arena in Erie, PA.

2010 Schedule is now posted

Well, it has actually happened!!! The AMA sanctioned XiiR, the X-treme International Ice Racing, Pro Tour racing series has outgrown its schedule! In only seven short years it has grown from a bright idea conjured up around a kitchen table one evening into the only AMA sanctioned Ice Racing Speedway series in the nation. With world renown racers from England, Scotland, Canada, and the United States, like Charlie (The Edge) Venegas, Anthony "The British Bulldog" Barlow, Paul (Cooperman) Cooper, and Shawn (Mad Dog) McConnel to name only a few, it was bound to happen. The 2009/2010 series now has at least 18 races scheduled and will run from October thru March that is six months of "edge of your seat, fast paced, continuous lead changing action".

If you combine the glitter and glamour of Las Vegas with professional well organized events, intense competition, breathtaking excitement, you will have XiiR. The racing series consists of several fast-paced heats with lightening quick Speedway Motorcycles and highly modified ATVs built and prepared specifically for oval track ice racing. Each race the riders will accumulate valuable championship points toward the sport’s most prestigious title – The 2009/2010 XiiR/AMA National Ice Racing Champion.

You may think you have been to motorcycle races before but take it from someone who thought he had seen about every kind of race out there "You ain't seen nothing yet!!" I have raced everything from motorcycles to sprint cars and have been in the racing world for more than 35 years. So, when I was invited to come watch last year in Wenatchee, I thought "How good can it be, racing in a hockey rink?" But let me tell you, I was shocked and awestruck at the pace of the racing and the skill of the racers. And don't forget to throw in the danger of racing with no brakes and hundreds of razor sharp steel studs in the tires. It was so much more and better than I expected or imagined. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Come see what we are talking about. We guarantee one race and you will be hooked!

The series will begin on October 22nd in Springfield, Massachusetts, Massachusetts, crisscross America and end on March 20th, 2010 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada.

WARBURTON SCORES FIRST WIN

2/3/09:  ( EVERETT, Wash)—Ben “Warbo” Warburton earned his first-ever win—on any surface—when he took the checkered flag in the third Speedway bike heat race Saturday night.  Warburton, riding in just his second X-Treme International Ice Racing event, was ecstatic afterward in the pits.“That is wild,” Warburton said.  “I’ve had so little time on the ice—there’s no way to really practice this, so I’m very happy with a win this quickly.”  The 22-year old Sheffield, England-native failed to make the main event, but was still upbeat.“We’re just two rounds in so I feel very good about where I’m at to this point. As long as I keep improving each week, I’ll be on that Podium before the season is over.”

2/2/09:  The 2009 XiiR schedule is the most ambitious one yet in the history of the XiiR.  As Anthony "The British Bulldog" would say, at the end of the day the tour will have travelled 12,495 miles in just over 9 weeks. This comes out to an average of almost 1400 miles per week.  The next stop is this Sunday, February 8th in Tampa, FL.  Tampa has always been one of the riders favorite stops after spending a long winter their respective homes in the UK, or the US.  The Tampa crowd is typically one of the largest, and many of the spectators will have been at every XiiR event that has taken place at the St. Pete Times Forum.

1/26/09:  The 2009 season is underway.  The speedway main event took three starts to get the main completed, but at the end of the night, James Mann stood on the top step of the podium with Anthony Barlow finishing second, and Paul Cooper standing on the third step.  In the quad class, Nathan Seigel got off to a great start, and led from start to finish after winning both of his heats.  The XiiR tour's next stop is in Everett, WA on Saturday, January 31st.  For results and video from St. Charles, go to the results tab, and click on St. Charles..

12/6/08 The 2009 schedule has now been posted, and all of the riders are busy preparing for the opening round in St. Charles, and for a tough 2009 season.  This years series will allow fans from Florida to Massachusetts to British Columbia enjoy the intense action that the X-Treme International Ice Racing Series brings to the ice.  In the speedway motorcycle class, the 2008 championship was decided in the final main event of the season with Charlie "The Edge" Venegas edging out Anthony "The British Bulldog" Barlow in the finale.  In the quad class, Rich Schoeberl won his third consecutive title over Nathan "Hippy" Seigel.  Always a fan favorite, Seigel has no intentions of being the bridesmaid again in 2009.
